Must-Have, Easy-to-Make Party Treats for Children   by Sharon M Brooks

The perfect children’s party have a few things that make them perfect – the right people, the right games and activities, the right location, and of course, the right food! Here are some easy to make party treats you should consider putting in the children’s party menu, even with a busy schedule!

Carrot and cucumber dip

No cooking required with this recipe. All you will need to do is to slice the carrots and cucumbers into bite sized sticks put in cute little cups, and serve with Thousand Island dressing as a dip. This is not only a healthy snack, but a tasty one too! No need to remind the kids to eat their vegetables when they happily eat them on their own!

Macaroni and cheese

Macaroni and cheese can never go wrong during children parties. Heat an oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and butter a baking dish as you cook the elbow macaroni according to its instructions. Then, melt 5 tablespoons of butter in a pot, adding half a cup of flour and stirring it for 2 minutes, before adding milk, stirring for another 6 to 8 minutes. Add 2 cups of grated Gruyere, 1 and a half cup of grated Cheddar, a quarter teaspoon of cayenne pepper, and 1 and a half spoon of salt, cooking the combination until the cheese fully melts. Mix the pasta in and bake for approximately 25 to 30 minutes until golden. Kids will wallop this dish away!

Nutella cookie

Unlike typical cookies with many ingredients and steps to follow, Nutella cookies are extremely easy to make! Simply mix a cup of flour, an egg, and half a cup of sugar with a cup of Nutella, mix well, and shape them into 1 inch balls before flattening them with the bottom of a glass to give it the cookie look, and then bake in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 7 to 8 minutes. This chocolaty cookie will melt the heart of chocolate lovers!

Fruit juice and popsicles

Why serve soda when you can serve healthier drinks like fruit juices? You could juice an orange with a pinch of salt and serve with ice, juice lemons mixed with water and ice, blend carrots mixed with condensed milk, or even make apple juices mixed with some salt to slow down the oxidization process. You could take a step further by using a Popsicle mold to make these juices into popsicles instead, which will serve well under a hot weather!
